Church for people who don’t “do” church!

Well, I would say that our billboard is a big success! The buzz from people outside of our church has been pretty amazing. I heard from a guy in our church, Rowland Suttles, this week who said that he was at one store, wearing his Eagle Pointe T-shirt, when somebody approached him and asked, “Do you go to Eagle Pointe?” Rowland said that the first thing that popped into his head was, “Here’s your sign!” Because he was wearing the T-shirt. But he kindly answered, “Why yes I do”. And this person said that they kept seeing our billboard and was planning to check out the church this coming Sunday. Rowland then went to another store, again somebody stopped him and asked if he went to our church. They then told him that they planned on coming this past Sunday but overslept, but that they were definitely going to visit the church this coming Sunday.

I also heard from another person in our church, Steve Green, who met somebody who works at a catholic church in our area. When Steve told them that he went to Eagle Pointe this person responded by saying, “Oh – that church! Everybody at our church is talking about your billboard.” For the month of December while we have had our billboard up, we have had a minimum of 3 or 4 families visit every Sunday morning as a direct result of our billboard. GO GOD!!!

So, join us in praying that God will continue using our billboard to help us impact our area for Jesus Christ. I also encourage you to use it as a tool, a great discussion starter, to help you talk with others about your faith and invite them to come and see what God is doing here at Eagle Pointe.

I love the billboard and the message it sends to people. However, it would be great if you could find a way to put up another one a little further north in, say, Cartersville. I wear my Eagle pointe t-shirts all over the place, but it never really sparks a conversation. I think Eagle Pointe is worth the drive and if I could somehow spark a conversation with people, then I would be able to tell them about the great things God is doing here at our church. It definitely is a conversation starter.
